In these stressful and uncertain times it is really important that we care for ourselves, both physically and mentally.  

 

Therefore, we have specifically designed a series of Wellwoman Checks for women who want a thorough review of their wellbeing and lifestyle. 

 

These checks provide clinical guidance and health advice in order to help you make changes to enhance their current health and well being. 

 

They are delivered by one of our experienced Practitioners who have specialist training and knowledge built up over many years of clinical practice. 

 

If you already have a known long-term condition please inform us in advance


Your appointment includes a comprehensive health assessment with the following components:


Initial 45-Minute Appointment with an Experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA)


Physical Examinations

  • Resting ECG: A test to check for heart abnormalities.

  • Vital Measurements: Height, weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure, peak flow (lung function), and oxygen saturation levels.


Laboratory Tests

  • Blood Tests:

    • Full Blood Count (FBC)

    • Renal Function Test (kidney health)

    • Protein Levels: Albumin, globulins

    • Iron Levels: Ferritin, serum iron, transferrin

    • Lipid Profile: Cholesterol levels

    • Magnesium and Vitamin D Levels

    • Thyroid Function Test (including TSH, T3, T4)

    • Hormonal Profile: Oestradiol, testosterone (total and free), sex hormone-binding globulin, cortisol, and testosterone/cortisol ratio

    • Blood Glucose Test: HbA1c for diabetes monitoring

    • Additional Tests: Folate, ferritin, vitamin B12, DHEA sulfate, and prolactin


Follow-Up Appointment (60 Minutes) with an Doctor or Advanced Nurse Practitioner 

Scheduled two weeks after the initial appointment to review blood test results and ECG findings.


  • Physical Examinations: Full abdominal and breast examinations.

  • Medical History Review: A thorough discussion of your medical history, symptoms, menstrual history, and any previous diagnoses or treatments.

  • Medication Review: Analysis of any current medications.

  • Lifestyle Review: Evaluation of smoking habits, alcohol consumption, and sleep patterns.

  • Diet and Exercise Assessment: Review of dietary habits and physical activity levels.

  • Anxiety, Mental Health, and Stress Assessments: Evaluations to gauge your overall mental well-being.

  • Development of a Personalised Management Plan: Tailored recommendations to monitor and improve your health, including potential follow-up appointments, regular check-ups, hormone level monitoring, and symptom tracking.
